Plans for the Liverpool Marathon took an unexpected change as issues relating to Ady’s bad back caused us to change our plans for a ‘relaxing’ couple of days in Liverpool. Dorina fell on her mixer & it was with some loneliness that I set off late Saturday afternoon arriving in Liverpool at about 7 pm. Check in was followed by a 15 minute walk to check out the start & finish area before returning to

After a great spell of weather this week it was difficult to just sit around, recover from the 1,000’s & taper for this Sunday’s Liverpool Marathon so in a Nutshell I didn’t! Tuesday was a short circuit to the Ugly House (Justified as pre-marathon roadwork). Wednesday was a recce of Siabod & what pace should I aim for on the forthcoming Siabod Summit Challenge in aid of Nepal (justification in itself). The number of supporters

I’ve just had a rather enjoyable morning sat in the Cafe talking to Kean & reminiscing like only two old blokes can about our antics in the Welsh 1,000’s last Saturday. Kean seemed particularly pleased with the way I introduced him to Rob Johnson ‘Rob, this is Kean, a former Fell runner!’ Now back to the race, I won’t give a foot by foot account but no doubt will go on a bit so switch

With the half term week following on from the Bank Holiday weekend we continued to be busy, in addition we were delighted to welcome Holland Park School to the Cafe from Thursday afternoon until Sunday morning. Staying at the Plas Curig Hostel next door Ian’s & Greg’s group of 37 children (I’m not good with ages so let’s say 13.ish year olds) together with 6 Teachers/Prefects were well behaved, polite & just a little bit

Blinked & the weekend was gone but not without a pleasant surprise & a lot of hard work. Things took an un-expected turn on Thursday afternoon after I dropped Georg & Simona off in Cardiff for Georg’s operation, brave man! As I checked my e-mails before driving back there was one from Liz Barker saying Paul I’m attempting the Paddy Buckley this Saturday, my support runner for Leg 4 looks like he’s going to pull
