After a great spell of weather this week it was difficult to just sit around, recover from the 1,000’s & taper for this Sunday’s Liverpool Marathon so in a Nutshell I didn’t!
Tuesday was a short circuit to the Ugly House (Justified as pre-marathon roadwork).
Wednesday was a recce of Siabod & what pace should I aim for on the forthcoming Siabod Summit Challenge in aid of Nepal (justification in itself). The number of supporters for this as well as the other activities on ‘Reach out for Nepal’ day on 27th June is steadily growing so thanks for all who have shown an interest. Anyone wishing to join me for a leg or two will be more than welcomed so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Thursday was the third Coed y Brenin ‘evening handicap run’, I’d missed the previous one so justification was Matt Ward deserved my support, I could just jog it after all. Of course I didn’t, chasing people & more to the point being chased by Mark Atherton caused me to run rather fast by my standards, Mark caught me nonetheless but I was spurred on to 39:15 a pb by almost two minutes.
Now that’s what I call tapering, will I pay for it in Liverpool or will the crowds turning out to cheer on the 14,000 of us spur me on, the latter I think but I have stupidity to blame if not!
If you are taking part or simply cheering on let’s hope it’ll be a great day & that we all enjoy the atmosphere together.
