Capel Festival, Moel Siabod Fell Race & Banda Bacana Live music Night – Saturday 4th July 2015

At the moment each time I blink another packed weekend comes out of nowhere & this coming one promises to be no exception!

With the heatwave likely to subside just a little Capel Curig is clearly the place to be this Saturday it looks like being a great day.

First things first, The Capel Curig Festival:-

An afternoon on the Festival field (next to the Cafe) with something for everyone, Assorted stalls, Gwynedd Axemen, Shearing, Digger digging, Woodworking, Rural Skills, BBQ, Ferret Racing, Children’s Play Area, Variety of Races & Competitions with prizes all in the wonderful setting in the heart of Snowdonia. Parking on the Festival field itself for a small charge, all monies going to the Village Community funds which among other things supports the Pensioners annual Christmas dinner.

Full details are in the Show brochure, we have some at the Cafe or go to www.capelcurigcommunitycentre.co.uk.

Next, the Moel Siabod Fell Race:-

Starting at 2:00 pm with registration starting at the Cafe from midday & just £5.00 entry fee this in my opinion is an ideal introduction race for anyone wishing to move into Fell running, a sport which in my view has no parallels! The race (which is also a classic) will start & finish on the bridge opposite the Cafe with Gaby’s Goulash awaiting you on the Festival Field. The Prize ceremony also on the Festival Field will be at 4:00 pm. There is also a Junior race so come on parents time to nudge the kids into something that could be life changing in a very positive way. A post race dip in the Afon Lugwy is almost obligatorily to re-fresh those aching legs before the ‘Fell Runners against the Local Villagers’ Tug of War brings things to a great finale.

To round the day of, Banda Bacana return to the Siabod Cafe for a fabulous evening of Live Music. Their last appearance in February brought a full house & dancing from start to finish, we will extend the ‘dance floor’ this time! Of course we have our extended drinks license until 11:30 pm & will be serving food until 8:00 pm.

So you can see Capel really is the place to be this Saturday, we hope you can join us with your friends & families & have a great time! See you Saturday, I hope.
