We found out earlier today that we have again won The Great Outdoors’ ‘Best Outdoor Café or Restaurant’ Award for 2020.

This is the third consecutive year for us after being runners up for the two years prior to that. With it being an honour just to be shortlisted you can’t imagine what it means to win this accolade, it’s a real uplift to all of us at the Café in what are difficult times. For both ourselves & so many of our customers, many of whom are more badly affected than us (& that’s saying something) 2020 needs to end & 2021 needs a more positive working environment.

So may I thank all those of you who have continued to support us, despite these times, in any way that you could & that of course includes those of you who considered us worthy of your votes. The Siabod ‘community’ has felt stronger than ever since the first Lockdown began to be lifted. In what I presume will be some very challenging months ahead please rest assured that we will continue to try & reciprocate your support as much as we are allowed to do. There is common sense out there so let’s hope the ‘Powers that Be’ latch onto it sooner rather than later.

Of course winning the award doesn’t mean we are the best but it does mean we are appreciated by many & that feels great.
