Six Months with the Yolmo – A Presentation by Corin Hardcastle

We are now well into our Autumn programme of events at the Siabod & it is hard to believe that Corin’s presentation this Saturday is almost upon us. Before going further a quick thank you once again to Mike for putting on such a great Quiz Night we are still receiving comments of appreciation & questions of when the next Quiz will be, soon we promise, so keep an eye on the events page & this blog.

Now back to Corin’s Presentation on the 30th November.

Corin Hardcastle approached me after being recommended as a possible venue by Cotswold Outdoor. His trip to the Himalayas was far different to that of Mine & Fraser’s in that it was based on the goal of installing IT into the local school. In a trip that was to last 6 months Corin became attached to the local communities, attended Weddings, Funerals as well as celebrating the Buddhist New Year. His presentation should give you a fascinating insight into the daily lives of these wonderful people as he shares with us his photographs & stories from this amazing place.

To add to the educational theme we will also be joined by the charity ‘Classroom in the Clouds’. Those of you who attended Fraser & My presentation earlier in the year may recall that we visited the wonderful School they constructed in Lukla.

Admission on the night is free but we hope you will be able to donate to both causes as a show of respect and appreciation of the work they both do.
