Back at the Cafe today after 3 Days of rest it was pleasing to have got out for a short run yesterday morning with a bit of intermittent log moving & stacking session in the afternoon despite the stifling heat.
One of today’s priorities was to assess what funds we raised on this years Reach Out for Nepal Day. With donations still coming in I am delighted to announce that the current total currently stands at £1,868.25 which is simply great. Of this a significant part is made up by monies raised by Fraser Mackay who whilst I was doing my run was walking the same loop some 12 times clocking up an impressive 52 miles. Fraser’s supporters donated £590 (including Gift Aid) & should exceed £600 once finalised so my thanks to him for a great effort.
The good news doesn’t end there, Ian Draisey is holding his Moel Siabod Cycling Sportif on 26th September (full details on our Events page or see an earlier post). With at least 15 riders signed up this should raise a similar amount to what we have so far. On top of this we have book donations & other smaller funds donated earlier in the year so all in all I see no reason why our total for 2020 should not exceed £4,000. That would be tremendous given the year of Covid & a significantly reduced Reach Out for Nepal Day itself.
Can I once again thank all those who contributed last weekend be it physically, financially or both, simply great!

Finally our thoughts are of course with Doug Scott, his Wife Trish & their families. C.A.N.’s works go on & we will continue to support you as best we can in the years ahead.
