We are pleased to announce that this year 19th August has been set for our annual ROFN fund-raiser. Initial details are now listed on our Events page so click there for more details.
This year Paul’s runs will hopefully be a little more relaxing for him as he’s aiming at a variety of routes to suit all between sunrise & sunset (5:50 am to 8:30 pm). The first of these runs will be Moel Siabod via the classic Daear Dhu Ridge (in the hope of seeing a good sunrise) with the descent of the race route back to the Cafe. He also plans runs into the Ogwen valley returning over the Estern Glyderrau. The Ogwen will again come into play as he heads up the infamous reservoir climb before contouring around the leat with it’s splendid isolation & no doubt another will explore the forest & Lakes to the North of Capel Curig. A probable final run will be the Loop of Capel which became his nemesis in his second failed attempt to run 100 miles in under 24 hours back in 2020. He hopes you can join him on one or more of these by making a donation to ROFN.
Twiggy’s stool & Mike’s quiz will feature at the Cafe too so our thanks to them for being up for it again.
All monies raised will go to Community Action Nepal (C.A.N.) & their excellent work out there on the ground.
Finally this weekend is a very busy one for Capel Curig because as well as the Fun Day & Moel Siabod Fell Race, Ian Draisey & his fellow cyclists will be coming through the village on their MSS (Moel Siabod Sportif, a ride of circa 100 miles). Tea & Cake will await them at the Cafe so please give them a huge cheer, all the money they raise again goes to C.A.N., have a great day guys!
