I blame the great spell of weather for me not learning the recent lessons of over doing it, here we go again!
Despite the rigors of the Pen. race followed by a torrid pot washing shift at the start of the Quiz Night you would think I’d be sensible & rest up on Sunday. Bright Autumn days though are not conducive to common sense so Sunday afternoon saw me out on one of my favorite Cafe circuits taking in Swallow Falls, the Gwydyr Forest & Llyn Mymbyr. This is a lovely undulating circuit, for once the 1K hill halfway round was tackled with a smile on my face as I decided to take it easy & keep my head high to take in the views of Siabod & the Ffestiniog Hills.
Monday’s weather was more of the same so what better than to once again forget over-training lessons & get out again. This time something a bit different a blast up & down Snowdon’s PYG Track. Snowdon on a week day at this time of year can be enjoyed & appreciated for the stunning mountain it is, living & working here is a blessing not to be taken for granted. Just missed out on beating the hour mark to the summit but 1:46 up & down was acceptable, the thing I remember most was thinking there are few if any better places (perhaps Cader Idris) to run than down the PYG track when it is quiet & there would be few places better to ‘go’ if I tripped, morbid? well maybe but in the best possible sense!
Today, the sun is shining again, Nick is up on CG catching the dawn, I am typing this!! Watch out Nick I’m coming…
