We are delighted to announce a new evening presentation has been put in our diary. Mike Raine will present ‘Bikepacking the Highland 550 and the Welsh 550’. Having just completed the newer Welsh 550 Mike will be able to compare his experiences of both routes & their different characteristics without bias but that said it does appear that the Welsh 550 comes out on top. The presentation will be on Saturday 12th November 2022, full details now available on the Events page of our website.

Mike is also the author of the must read for aspiring Mountain Leaders & nature lovers alike ‘Nature of Snowdonia’. The second edition of which was published in 2020, we have just restocked it, to buy your copy simply enquire at our counter, we have agreed with Mike that £4 from every sale goes to our Reach Out for Nepal with Mike receiving the balance of proceeds less the publishing costs, so much better than the deal he gets from Amazon & richly deserved too.

Whilst posting could we also formally thank Lowri Morgan for her fabulous & fun presentation the Saturday before last, the audience was genuinely captivated by her breathless enthusiasm throughout. Before leaving Lowri still had the energy to sign & message (some in Welsh & some in English) her book ‘Beyond Limits’ leaving us with 25 copies to sell, again just enquire at our counter. It was Paul’s reading of the book that made him reach out & ask Lowri if she would give a presentation at our Cafe. Thank you Lowri & to all those who came along!
