Moel Siabod Race 6th July 2013 – Part One

We are all looking forward to this great race which is now less than 2 weeks away. As well as being an established classic it is also ideal for beginners to try their hand, or should that be legs, out in the fantastic world of Fell Running. Be warned though it is descending where the danger lies so take it easy until you become more competant but don’t let a few ‘frills’ put you off, it’s great fun & very rewarding. At 5.4 Miles long & with 2,300′ of ascent it is the ideal starter race & was indeed only the second Fell Race I’d entered when running in it for the first time in 2010. I will miss it this year purely due to Organising Responsibilities, with my own running going quite well lately I am very envious. Cotswold Outdoor have been great in sponsoring the race by donating many prizes, my thanks to Emma, Chris & the team for their support.

Race details:-
Free Parking on the Show Field where the Tyn y Coed Hotel have laid on Sandwiches for the runners. Registration inside the Cafe from 12:00, Race start on the Bridge at 14:00. Afterwards Gaby’s Goulash will make a welcome return for the Finishers before Prize giving at approx. 16:00.

Michael Roscoe will be playing his Flamenco guitar & of course the Capel Show is next door to be enjoyed too with stalls & attractions for all.

The cafe music night follows at 19:00 so why not come prepared to make it a great day out in Capel Curig.

Lets hope the sun shines again this year to put the icing on the cake.
