A Journey into Alpinism – A Visual Presentation at the Moel Siabod Cafe
May 2, 2015 @ 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm
£5.00Join Paul supported by friends, Fraser Mackay & Kean Rowlands as he takes you through his Journey on how a Nepal trek led him into Alpinism on the massifs of the Western Alps. Part 1 will illustrate Paul’s & Fraser’s attempts to summit Gran Paradiso (the highest summit lying totally in Italy) & Mont Blanc (highest summit in the Alps & Western Europe). Part 2 will cover Paul & Kean’s very own ‘spaghetti tour’ of the Monte Rosa massif taking in twelve 4,000 metre peaks culminating in the Dufoutspitze (second highest summit in the Alps).
We hope to show that by steady progression on increasingly technical terrain with the support of an experienced Guide these mountains are there to be explored & enjoyed leading to a great sense of personal achievement. You could be inspired or at the very least interested to see how we got on.
Food served from the normal Cafe menu until 19:45.
All Ticket Sales will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Charity CLIK Sargent. Tickets can be reserved in advance either at the counter or by phoning the Cafe.
